ITANAGAR | Jul 07 | State’s jewel – Juno Pinggam and Gichik Chichi who recently won Miss Itanagar contest crown, are all set to represent India in next  World Cosplay Summit, scheduled at Nagoya in Japan during July 29 to August 6 next.

Arunachal Cosplay Club (ACC) has been trying to promote the game within Capital Complex since last four years, Juno, a DNGC student, told media persons at Arunachal Press Club (APC) here today.

When asked how she and her friend were inspired to play cosplay, Juno said that cosplay is a profession through which one can gain name and fame. Thus,  ACC has been encouraging youths interested to develop their skills as a makeup artist, photographer, model and fashion designer.

“We will be displaying state’s unique traditions and culture this time at Japan event through cosplay,” Juno said, adding that ACC has been facing various hurdles in promoting cosplay since people consider it as a distraction for young people.

Juno and Chichi will play as an Aka Hotaru and Aka Chii during the cosplay as both representing state’s tribal tradition and culture have taken part in many cosplay competitions in Delhi, Mumbai, Mizoram and Nagaland to receive numerous awards and prizes.

“Though an unorganised contestant, they said that were organising themselves and their registrations were  under process to be completed very soon”, they said, adding “we are in need of support and blessing from the GoAP and seniors and urged the GoAP to support them as both will be representing the country in world forum where  more than 32 countries would take part.

“We both would try to compete with global contestants which would be a good experience for us to learn,” the duo added.
